The Union of Banks of Armenia, together with the German-Armenian Fund, brought together representatives of the financial sector under one roof to conduct an important dialogue between banks and SMEs, summarize the results of the previous year, and indicate future activities.
Always keeping SMEs at the core of its activities, Acba bank, in addition to financing them, offers special business training and knowledge exchange programs. The programs help entrepreneurs make more accurate financial calculations, develop specific strategies and create success stories for their businesses.
"We are constantly in touch with SMEs through various platforms and exchange opinions on the work done and existing needs. We are constantly updating, changing and presenting new proposals to the market, which contributes to the development of SMEs, as well as regions. The development of SMEs is important for Acba bank, as they are considered the backbone of the economy and contribute to the overall increase in the development of our country," noted Suren Hovhannisyan, Head of the Branch Management Department of Acba bank.
"The total amount of loans issued by banks is 6.4 trillion, of which 3.1 trillion are loans to businesses, and half of that is loans to small and medium-sized enterprises. This indicator is not bad, but the higher it is and the number of small and medium-sized enterprises increases, all parties will benefit," noted Daniel Azatyan, President of the Union of Banks of Armenia.
"I believe that the mission of banks is not only to provide financial resources. It is necessary for banks, in cooperation with businesses, to raise them to a new level, making them more competitive," noted Martin Galstyan, Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia.
In the banking system, Acba was the first to launch the Acba Business Club in 2023, bringing together representatives of the business community under one platform. Businessmen can join the Acba Business Club through the website sme.acba.am, where they will also learn about upcoming events and special offers for partners.
Acba bank is supervised by the CBA.
