In cooperation between Acba bank and Yerevan Municipality, the Komitas Park will be renovated. The park's renovation program is considered a gift from Acba bank to Yerevan on the occasion of the bank’s 30th anniversary.
The project aims to transform the park into a vibrant space for relaxation and leisure. Soon, the park will become more modern, greener, and thoughtfully designed. The garden adjacent to the Conservatory will tell the story of Komitas Vardapet and the legacy he left behind.
More than 3,000 plants will be planted in the area, creating a comfortable and green environment. A drip irrigation system will be installed, new walkways will be added, and a small stage with an amphitheater will be built to host open-air concerts.
The park will be redefined with new content, while one of the primary goals remains the preservation of the park’s already established, tall, and mature trees. It is equally important to preserve the historical structure of the park. A water element is planned to be added around the monument as a tribute to the famous image where Komitas is seated in front of a pond.
“Acba bank is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a series of initiatives. This is one of our largest projects connected to Yerevan and will be our major gift to the city. We want this green corner to become more attractive, more modern, and more loved, especially by children and students. The project will be implemented in line with modern standards, ensuring all environmental considerations are met, preserving green spaces, and introducing new artistic lighting solutions,” said Hakob Andreasyan, CEO of Acba bank.
“This project is being implemented together with our partners from Acba bank. It is one of the few, yet highly important initiatives coming from the banking sector. Acba bank proposed and co-financed the reconstruction of this park. According to the project, this will become one of the most significant green areas in the heart of the city, returning to Yerevan in a renewed and modernized form.
