Acba Bank is the Best in Armenia According to ESG Standards. Euromoney
The renowned British financial publication, Euromoney, has recognized Acba bank as Armenia's "Best ESG-Bank" within the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) framework.
This honorable recognition highlights Acba bank's consistent loan portfolio growth and its increasing integration within the ESG framework. Key factors include the bank’s commitment to educational programs, both internally and within the community, and the strategic development of its ESG policies.
In alignment with international best practices, Acba is set to launch its proprietary "green credit issuance documents," establishing clear criteria for green credits and mechanisms for CO2 emission calculations.
The bank has also established a Green Bond Framework, ensuring that funds are exclusively allocated to financing green projects. Furthermore, Acba will release a comprehensive sustainability report, detailing the social, economic, and environmental impact of the bank's activities.
Throughout its operations, Acba has received high praise for its effective management practices and its dedication to supporting social and environmental initiatives. From its inception, Acba bank has prioritized the balanced development of communities. With 44 of its 65 branches located across 10 regions of Armenia, nearly 50% of the bank's credit portfolio is dedicated to regional areas.
Acba is also a key player in sustainable development programs across Armenia, particularly in financing green economies and energy-efficient projects. In 2011, the bank partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to implement a "Social and Environmental Risk Management" system, continuing to support ESG-compliant financing activities.
Acba bank is the sole founder and 100% shareholder of Acba Leasing, Armenia's first leasing organization, where green financing constitutes over 40% of the leasing portfolio. Additionally, the bank co-founded "Amundi-Acba Asset Management" with the leading European asset management firm, Amundi. With a presence in all regions of Armenia through its 65 branches and approximately 5,600 shareholders, Acba bank stands as a leader in promoting and financing sustainable development within the country.
