What will smart and innovative agriculture look like in Armenia in the near future? At the Sevan AgriTech Summit, held with the main partnership of Acba bank, innovation meets current agricultural practices to shape joint solutions for the future. The platform discussed the most important challenges of the sector with startups interested in the development of agriculture, from climate change to the rejuvenation of farmers, and identified possible solutions.
Acba bank, as the leader in financing the agricultural sector in Armenia, presented its digital tools, financing opportunities, and programs that allow those engaged in agriculture, regardless of their location, to have equal conditions and access to innovative solutions.
“Acba itself was a startup 30 years ago. Back then, our startup was just an idea, and today Acba is one of Armenia’s leading and most stable financial institutions, playing a key role not only in financing agriculture but also in driving the broader economy. To the youth, I would say: be inspired by good examples, move forward, and know that we will support those who want to engage in agriculture,” said Hakob Andreasyan, CEO of Acba bank.
At the Sevan AgriTech Summit, special attention was also given to education and opportunities for engaging young professionals. Guillaume Lefevre, Director of IFCAM University of the French Crédit Agricole Group, emphasized that in order to cope with change, it is essential to invest in the education of both young and experienced farmers. Acba bank, he noted, can play a key role in bridging the gap between generations.
“Today we are facing a changing world that brings challenges to all sectors of the economy around the world. To overcome all these challenges, digital solutions play an important role, helping farmers manage their farms more correctly," noted Suren Hovhannisyan, Head of Branch Management Department at Acba bank.
