Armenian winemaking traditions and heritage are stored in the cellar of Areni wine factory, which has a history of 26 years.

In the cellar of the factory, where the wine obtained from Vayots Dzor grapes is stored and aged, the aroma of alcohol and moisture is mixed. Here, the wines are aged in vats, where they acquire a special taste and aroma. Along with traditional winemaking, the factory is also engaged in modern production. Now the old is merged with the new.

The cooperation between Areni wine factory and Acba Bank, which has turned into a friendship, has a long history. Before the pandemic, 2019 was the factory's hottest tourist year. Every day, 250-300 guests were introduced to the winery, its history, and a tasting of Armenian wines was organized.

The director of the winery is Tigran Simonyan, but it was founded by his parents. "Areni" wine factory is a family business.

"The oldest products of our factory date back to 1994. We have stored wines every year since 1994. The vats are 50 to 100 years old, and we have collected them in different regions of Armenia. The main part of them is underground, where the wines are filled and aged: this is the traditional Armenian version. Thanks to the cooperation with Acba Bank, we have acquired the latest equipment and produce wine in accordance with international standards, which is qualitatively different from our products of previous years. We started cooperating with Acba Bank from the time when it was called Bank for Peasant Mutual Assistance of Armenia. Our new factory is the latest result of cooperation. But we are not limited to that. We have borrowed equipment from Acba Leasing, our cooperation is multi-sectoral," says Tigrann Simonyan, the director of Areni wine factory.

There is also a small cafe next to the factory, where, as a tradition, guests visiting from different parts of the world leave a handwritten note.
