-Mr. Chzmachian, the year has come to an end and simultaneously the time defined by the Central bank of RA for replenishing the total equity of commercial banks to 30 BN AMD- the new normative level, is also ending. How would you estimate the decision made by the regulating body two years ago?
-Definitely I consider the increase of equity of the commercial banks, which become stronger and more competitive, positive. This will have beneficial effects on the general state of the Armenian economy, as banks will receive or already have received significant available funds, and, believe me, they will not, so to say, "sit on the money" but will try to direct it on lending to almost all sectors of the economy and the social life of the population. And this in turn will lead to lower interest rates, as deepening competition for the customer is expected.
