About 150 entities from all regions of Armenia, which produce organic food, participated in the Program. The participants were manly the customers of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK.

The Program is directed to the analysis of the current state of the market of organic products and it is designed for all organizations and individuals, who are interested in obtaining an organic production certification.

The event had also informative purpose. During the meeting, the experts from Germany, as well as the representatives of the Biodiversity Conservation Union (NABU) of Germany were present. The leading specialists from Germany introduced the sector expertise, the standards of the European market and the opportunities for the organizations, producing certified organic food without artificial additions, to the participants.

The Chief Executive Officer of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, Hakob Andreasyan, held a speech, and underlined that from the very first day of foundation ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK has always been supporting the Armenian farmer, rancher, producer of agricultural products and cultivator of land. “Throughout our activities our mission has always been and is the support to the agricultural entities of Armenia”, mentioned Mr. Andreasyan.

Referring to the Program goals the Chief Executive Officer of the bank said, “The financing and consulting for this sector, being the backbone of the country’s economy and having a vital significance, has been the key objective of our Bank from its foundation day. For nearly 20 years, first as Agricultural Cooperative Bank of Armenia (ACBA) and since 2006 as ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK, we have always promoted and assisted farmers as a trusted partner and a true friend,' he added.

Hakob Andreasyan highly appreciates the opportunities for fulfilment of the program. "Today's event will give a new impetus and quality to this relationship. Together with our partner, we have decided to facilitate the entry of producers of organic and environmentally friendly products to the European market. The foreign specialists will introduce you the international practice in the sector of organic food, the requirements of the European market and the opportunities, which can arise for the certified producer. I can assure that due to its climatic conditions and characteristics Armenia's agriculture is able to produce high quality organic products. The question is how. That is why we have initiated these seminars and consulting," finished his speech the Chief Executive Officer of ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK.

The Program, however, does not end with this. The conference is to be followed by a series of trainings and seminars.

The completion of the informative part of the program will be followed by a peer review and a competition among the participants for the purpose of certification.
