Inspired by the slogan “Thank you for giving life” of the “Yeolyan” Hematology and Oncology Center, Acba bank employees have joined the voluntary blood donation program.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about the importance of participating in voluntary blood donation.
In Armenia, an average of 60 units of blood are transfused each day, helping save dozens of lives. The demand for blood increases year by year, and accordingly, the need for blood donors also grows. To maintain a sufficient blood supply, it is extremely important to develop a strong culture of blood donation in Armenia.
“It is very important for the healthcare system to always maintain sufficient blood reserves so that no patient suffers due to a shortage of blood.
To achieve this, it is essential to develop this culture within our society. Employees of Acba bank have joined voluntary, unpaid blood donation. I would like this to serve as an example for state, private, and public organizations, so that everyone actively participates in the blood donation process and we consistently maintain an adequate supply of blood components,” said Andranik Shamilyan, Deputy Director for Blood Services at the Yeolyan Hematology and Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health.
