Acba Bank has joined the UN "Women's Empowerment Principles" (WEPs) program, which aims to empower women and promote gender equality in workplaces, communities and business.
"We have joined the UN "Women's Empowerment Principles" program to promote the dissemination and development of the latter's principles. The purpose of these principles is, first and foremost, to define equality, from good working conditions to the creation of equal opportunities for health, safety, well-being, education and professional development.
It should be emphasized that by joining this program, we are not assuming a new obligation, but reaffirming and emphasizing the policy we have long adopted: women play an extremely important role in all fields," said Arsen Melkonyan, deputy CEO (Business Operations) at Acba Bank OJSC.
A panel discussion on the topic "Women's Empowerment Principles: Equality in the Workplace" was also held within the framework of the event.
Acba Bank is one of the largest employers in Armenia with around 1,100 female employees, representing about 65% of the bank's total workforce.
