Bank Achievements

  • 1999: Three years after its establishment, the Rural Support Bank of Armenia (ACBA-AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVE BANK OF ARMENIA, later ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE Bank) was recognized by the Union of Banks of Armenia as the Best Bank of Armenia;
  • 2000: Rural Support Bank of Armenia was recognized by the Ministry of Finance and Economy of the Republic of Armenia and the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia as the best dealers in the government bond market. In the same year, the Bank was recognized by The Banker magazine as the Best Bank in Armenia;
  • 2001, 2002: Rural Support Bank of Armenia was recognized by The Banker magazine as the Best Bank in Armenia;
  • 2003: Establishment of ACBA Leasing;
  • 2004: The Bank becomes the leader in the payment card market in Armenia;
  • 2005: The Bank provides the highest revenue indicator during its operations;
  • 2006: The Rural Support Bank of Armenia is renamed ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE Bank. The Banker again recognizes the Bank as the Best Bank of Armenia;
  • 2007: Fitch rating agency grants BB rating of long-term issuer to the Bank (with stable perspective);
  • 2008: The Banker Magazine of The Financial Times recognizes ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank as the Best Bank for the fifth time;
  • 2009: ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE Bank becomes the first in the Armenian banking system with the volume of taxes paid to the state budget;
  • 2010: ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE Bank launches the issue of American Express Gold cards with exclusive rights in Armenia. In the same year, for the first time in the history of the banking system of the Republic of Armenia, the Bank approached the credit investment threshold of 100 billion drams. In the same year, the Bank also issued MasterCards;
  • 2011: Together with UEFA Champions League, the Bank issued MasterCard UEFA Champions League card. In the same year, the Bank issued the second type of American Express system - American Express Blue with exclusive rights;
  • 2012: ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK became the only bank in the Armenian banking system to issue and service 3 international payment cards (American Express, VISA International, MasterCard International) and 1 local (ArCa) payment cards;
  • 2013: Establishment of AMUNDI-ACBA ASSET MANAGEMENT company;
  • 2014: The Bank issued the third type of American Express Cashback Card - American Express Cashback card with exclusive rights;
  • 2015: The Bank introduced a new tool for providing remote banking services - ACBA Mobile;
  • 2016: American Express Gold and American Express Blue payment cards, issued exclusively by the Bank, were issued with a chip. The new website of American Express cards was launched;
  • 2017: USSD and PIN CHANGE services were launched. Thanks to the USSD, the cardholders of the Bank received an opportunity to quickly block the card, if needed, without having to visit the bank via sms, and thanks to PIN CHANGE the cardholders can change the PIN code of the card via an ATM, if desired;
  • 2018: The Fitch rating agency awarded the bank a "Long-Term Issuer Default Rating IDR" of "B +" rating with a stable perspective. In the same year, the Bank launched servicing of Japanese International JCB Cards.

Acba bank is a full member of SWIFT payment and settlement system, international VISA card payment system and founding member of local ArCa card payment system. The Bank is the exclusive representative of American Express payment cards in Armenia.

Acba bank has been granted Principal Membership License and Merchant Acquiring Certificate from the VISA International Association.

Acba bank is a member of the International Confederation of Agricultural Credit (CICA) and the Union of Banks of Armenia.

The Bank has 65 branches, 20 of which are in Yerevan, the rest in 10 regions of Armenia, as well as 190 ATMs throughout the Republic of Armenia.

The share equity of the Acba Bank amounts to 89,775,000,000 AMD, which is divided into 5,985,000 common ordinary shares, with the nominal value of 15,000 AMD for each share.

"ACBA FEDERATION" Closed Joint-Stock Company

  • Acba Federation has been a qualifying shareholder in Acba Bank since 2017, currently holding 4,488,993 shares (75% of the Bank’s equity).
  • Acba Federation was established in 2017 by ten Agricultural Cooperative Regional Unions (ACRUs) NGOs, each of which is based in one region of Armenia. The ACRUs were formerly direct shareholders (and founders) of the Bank, before founding ACBA Federation in 2017. The 10 ACRUs are backed by more than 75,000 members, individual farmers from all regions of Armenia.
  • Acba Federation, through its participation in Acba Bank’s equity, is highly active in agriculture across Armenia, aiming to foster agricultural development nationwide. In this role, it contributes to rural prosperity and community growth, supports agricultural startups and community development efforts, and helps establish pilot farms that introduce advanced agricultural business management practices.

«SOCIÉTÉ DE PROMOTION ET DE PARTICIPATION POUR LACOOPERATION ÉCONOMIQUE» Public Limited Company(Proparco)

  • Proparco joined Acba Bank as a qualifying shareholder at the end of 2024, holding 598,500 shares (10% of the Bank’s equity).
  • Proparco is a subsidiary and the private-sector financing arm of the Agence Française de Développement Group (AFD Group).
  • It has been promoting sustainable economic, social and environmental development for over 45 years. Proparco provides funding and support to both businesses and financial institutions mainly in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle-East. Its action focuses on the key development sectors: infrastructure, mainly for renewable energies, agribusiness, financial institutions, health and education.
  • Its operations aim to strengthen the contribution of private players to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the international community in 2015. To this end, Proparco finances companies whose activity contributes to creating jobs and decent incomes, providing essential goods and services and combating climate change. They contribute to building sustainable economic growth and reducing poverty.
  • Agence Française de Développement (AFD) is an indirect significant shareholder in the Bank via Proparco. AFD is an industrial and commercial state-owned entity (EPIC) under the French Government, operating as a financially independent legal entity. As a financing institution serving the public interest, AFD holds approximately 84% of Proparco’s shares.

Free Float

  • A combined total of 897,507 shares (15% of the Bank’s equity) is owned by other individuals and legal entities, including employees.
  • Most employees became shareholders through the Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) conducted in April 2021 in collaboration with ACBA FEDERATION CJSC, ACBA LEASING CO CJSC, and the Bank. Under this ESOP, 147,530 shares were allocated to more than 1,100 employees of these organizations.
  • Additional employees, as well as various individuals and legal entities, acquired shares during the Bank’s first IPO in September–November 2021.
  • From February 1, 2022, Acba Bank’s shares have been listed on the Main “A” list of the Armenia Stock Exchange, allowing market participants to buy or sell the free float portion of shares in a flexible and transparent manner.

Financial Group of "ACBA GROUP''

By the Decision N 27 ԾՕՀ Ա of the Central Bank of Armenia, dated 28. 04.2017 “ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE BANK” CJSC, "ACBA LEASING" CO CJSC " and "AMUNDI-ACBA ASSET MANAGEMENT" CJSC" have been qualified (recognized) as a financial group - “ACBA-CREDIT AGRICOLE GROUP”.

By the “ACBA BANK” OJSC’s Board decision of 14/08/2020 the financial group has been renamed to “ACBA GROUP”.

"ACBA BANK" OJSC has been appointed as a responsible person of the "ACBA GROUP" financial group.
